2010-11: Set career highs in goals (4) and points (22), and tied a personal best in assists (18).  Ranked 2nd on the Islanders in blocked shots with a career high (137).  Reached career highs in penalty minutes (45), hits (54) and shots (81).  Scored first career GWG on 3/11 vs. BOS.  Missed 18 games due to three separate injuries.

2009-10: Set career highs in assists (18), games played (69) and average ice time (20:41) with the NY Islanders in 2009-10.  Ranked second on the 2009-10 Islanders in blocked shots (131).  Played 100th career NHL game on 3/19 vs. Anaheim.  Scored first career power- play goal on 1/23 vs. New Jersey.

2008-09: Tied for 11th among NHL rookie defensemen in points (1g-5a-6pts).  Ranked fifth among AHL rookie blueliners in points per game (.54) with the 2008-09 Sound Tigers.  Made NHL debut 48 hours after signing first pro contract on 4/3 vs. the New York Rangers. Recorded first NHL point (1a)the following night against the Rangers at Madison Square Garden.

College Career

Played four years at Colorado College (WCHA), totaling 19 goals and 57 assists in 151 games.

2007-08: Named 2008 WCHA Defensive Player of the Year, a WCHA First-Team All-Star and an NCAA West First-Team All-American.  Recipient of the 2008 WCHA Scholar Athlete of the Year Award.  Named to the 2008 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American Team.  Led NCAA defensemen in both points and assists (6g-31a-37pts).

2006-07: Ranked 2nd on team among defensemen in points (7g-8a-15pts)

2005-06: Appeared in 42 games and recorded 4 goals, 9 assists, 13 points and 48 penalty minutes.

2004-05: Finished the season ranked 4th among WCHA rookie defensemen in points (2g-9a-11pts).
