2007-08: Registered 31 points (14g-17a) and 98 penalty minutes in 81 games with CBJ. Played in a clubrecord 243 straight games from 10/9/05—4/5/08 before missing the final regular season game due to injury. Set career highs in penalty minutes (98) and shots (198). Was third on the team in goals, penalty minutes and shots, tied for third in GWGs and was fifth in points. 2006-07: Registered 36 points (15g-21a) and didn’t miss a game in his second season with CBJ. Set career highs in assists, points and games played. Tied for the team lead with two SHGs. Was fifth on the club in goals, points, GWGs, plus/minus rating and penalty minutes. Tied a CBJ single-game record with 10 shots 4/7 vs. ANA. Collected 3a 3/25 vs. STL to set a single-game career high in assists and tie a career high in points. Won a gold medal with Canada at the World Championship.
2005-06: Scored a career-high 17 goals and added 13 assists in 80 games with CBJ. Ranked second on the club in GWGs (5) and games played (tied), was third in penalty minutes, fourth in goals and fi fth in shooting percentage (13.4%). Nine of his 17 goals came in the third period, while 10 gave CBJ a lead.
2004-05: Notched 10 points (7g-3a) and 34 penalty minutes in 15 games with AS Varese (Italy). 2000-01: Made his NHL debut for EDM 12/9 vs. LA. Netted 54 points (29g-25a) in 78 games with Hamilton. Ranked second on Bulldogs in goals, third in points and fifth in assists. Led Hamilton with eight GWGs.
1999-00: Had 28 points (15g-13a) in 78 games with Hamilton in his fi rst professional season. Ranked sixth on the club in goals.
1998-99: Combined to record 66 points (32g-34a) and 116 penalty minutes in 58 games with Medicine Hat and Brandon (WHL). Finished third on Brandon in goals and sixth in points. Represented at the World Junior Championship.
1997-98: Led Medicine Hat in goals (34), assists (32) and points (66) in 72 games. Co-winner of team’s MVP award. Made his professional debut and played in four games for Hamilton (AHL).
1996-97: Registered 39 points (16g-23a) in 71 games as a WHL rookie for Medicine Hat.
Has represented Canada three times in major international competitions.
2008: Appeared in his second World Championship, posting two assists in nine games as Canada won the silver medal.
2007: Made his first appearance in a World Championship, recording six points (1g-5a) in nine games. 1999: Skated in the World Junior Championship in WPG, Manitoba. Recorded 2-2-4 and two penalty minutes in seven games.
EDM’s fifth pick, 121st overall, in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft. Acquired by PHX with a third-round pick (later traded to CAR – later traded to NY Rangers – NY Rangers selected Billy Ryan) in the 2004 Entry Draft from EDM in exchange for NJ’s second-round pick (previously acquired, EDM selected Geoff Paukovich) and BUF’s fourth-round pick (previously acquired, EDM selected Liam Reddox) in the 2004 Entry Draft, June 26, 2004. Acquired by CBJ with Cale Hulse and Michael Rupp from PHX in exchange for Geoff Sanderson and Tim Jackman, Oct. 8, 2005. Acquired by Washington from CBJ in exchange for Chris Clark and Milan Jurcina, Dec. 28, 2009.
Enjoys playing golf in the offseason. Favorite hockey memory is of winning the World Championship. Credits his parents as his role models for their work ethic.
